I am a contemporary visual artist currently working as a painter, and focused on expressing my emotional reaction to the landscape of West Cornwall, where I live.

Ron Ford MA Fine Art

I have been painting all my life but in the last 14 years I have devoted an increasing amount of time to it. Walking in the more remote parts of Great Britain including West Cornwall, North Wales, and the Yorkshire Moors, offers the opportunity to immerse myself in the landscape and explore elements other than the purely visual.

I recently completed an MA in Fine Art Contemporary Practice at University College Falmouth, investigating the meaning of landscape and the process of painting. I am a member of the Oxford Art Society and CMR in Redruth, which is an artist led project space. You can also see my work at Saatchi on-Line.

My work is informed by contemporary artists such as Per  Kirkeby, Hughie O’Donahue,  Jeremy Gardiner  John Blockley and Moira Huntly

My studio, at Islington Wharf in Penryn was threatened by high tides in February but fortunately  the defences held. Others were not so lucky.
